🎉 Chatswood TT Crowned SNDTTA Autumn 2026 Division 1 Champions

Chatswood Table Tennis Club has a new team championship to celebrate. On Friday 12 June 2026, Chatswood TT completed its SNDTTA Autumn 2026 Division 1 campaign by winning the Grand Final against Annangrove Div 1 at Annangrove Table Tennis Academy.
Championship note: the Grand Final result was confirmed by the club after Friday night's match. At publication time, the SNDTTA Grand Final page listed the fixture as played but had not yet published the line-by-line scorecard, so this report records the title without inventing an official final score.

About SNDTTA Autumn 2026
SNDTTA is the Sydney Northern Districts Table Tennis Association, and its Autumn 2026 Division 1 competition brought together leading teams from the northern Sydney table tennis community. The Chatswood TT draw included matches against Annangrove Div 1, Terrey Hills Div 1, MacForce, Nam Ho Samurai, Hornsby Div 1 Blue, Norwest Titans, PCYC Div 1 Power, Willoughby Blue, Cherrybrook Hurricane and RTTC Div 1A.
Each fixture is a team match. SNDTTA records the result across rubbers, games and total points, which means a 5-4 scoreline can still contain a very different story underneath: long five-game singles, doubles momentum swings and pressure points that decide whether a team survives or goes home.
The Chatswood TT representative team
SNDTTA's team statistics page lists the Chatswood TT squad as:
| Charlie Huang #1 | Brian Chen #2 | Jolene Wang #3 |
| Michael Liu #4 | Mona Xu #5 | Hunter Huang #6 |
This was a team achievement. Across the season, Chatswood needed different players to step up in different weeks: experienced match control, attacking courage from the younger players, doubles combinations, and the discipline to stay calm when the team score reached 4-4.
Season performance
Chatswood TT's season record on the SNDTTA team page was 8 wins and 5 losses before the Grand Final entry was fully scored online. The path was not a straight line. Chatswood opened its recorded campaign with a narrow 4-5 loss to Annangrove Div 1, took strong mid-season wins, absorbed several tight defeats, and then found its best form when the finals pressure arrived.

The table shows why this title matters. Chatswood did not simply dominate from the start; the team learned its way through a difficult draw. Three of the biggest moments were decided 5-4: the early loss to Annangrove, the 1 June finals win over Hornsby Div 1 Blue, and the 5 June finals win over Terrey Hills Div 1.
Finals pressure and composure
After a 4-5 loss to MacForce in Minor Final 1 on 18 May, Chatswood TT had no easy route left. The response was the mark of a strong team: on 1 June, Chatswood beat Hornsby Div 1 Blue 5-4 at Hornsby RSL Club; on 5 June, back at Chatswood Tennis Club, the team beat Terrey Hills Div 1 5-4, with the SNDTTA scorecard showing 21 games to 17 and 379 total points to 342.
The 5 June scorecard also showed the value of fast starts and doubles teamwork. Jolene Wang and Mona Xu helped Chatswood build early momentum, including singles wins and a doubles win together, before Terrey Hills fought back and forced the match deep. Chatswood still found the fifth team rubber needed to advance.
One week later, the Grand Final was a rematch with Annangrove Div 1 - the same team that had edged Chatswood 5-4 back in February. This time, Chatswood finished the job and brought the Division 1 title home.
A message for our younger players
For CTTC juniors and other club squads, this championship is more than a result. It is a practical lesson in how team table tennis is won: train consistently, prepare for doubles, support the player on court, and keep believing when the scoreboard is uncomfortable.

Several young players at the club will soon experience the same team-event pressure. The lesson from Chatswood TT is simple: a season can include losses, momentum swings and close calls, but players who keep learning can still be ready for the decisive night.
Next challenge: NSW Metropolitan Club Championships
The timing could not be better. The next major team event is the 2026 NSW Metropolitan Club Championships, to be held from Saturday 20 June 2026 at 09:00 to Sunday 21 June 2026 at 17:00 at Sydney Olympic Park Sports Halls. TTNSW has published the team list, draws and event information, and registrations are now closed.
For every Chatswood player heading to Sydney Olympic Park, this SNDTTA title is proof that club teammates can lift each other. Go prepared, compete point by point, and play for the team.
